Mounted on top of the clubhouse, the camera looks out across the balcony and the beach between our two ramps, offering a real-time view of conditions before you head down. Members on Individual, Family, Life and Under 25 plans have exclusive access our live beach cam.
To view the live feed, enter the password in the box below. Your password is included in your welcome email and is reissued each year at renewal.
Please note: HSSC’s web cams and weather station are run on a voluntary basis, and we do not guarantee the availability of these services.
Note: Tide times are based on the Folkestone tide station. For Hythe, tides are typically a few minutes earlier - allow approximately 5-7 minutes difference. Always assess local conditions before launching.

1. Select Your Layer (Top Right Icon)
Use the layers icon in the top right corner to switch between different weather views.
For wind and water sports, the most useful layers are:
- Wind - Live wind speed and direction
- Wind Gusts - Stronger gust potential
- Waves - Wave height and direction
- Swell - Swell height and period
- Rain & Thunder - Incoming weather systems
- Clouds - Visibility and overcast conditions
2. Use the Pin Drop Tool
Click anywhere on the map to drop a location marker.
This opens a detailed forecast panel showing:
- Wind speed (in knots)
- Gust strength
- Wave height
- Swell direction and period
- Temperature
- Hour-by-hour breakdown
You can drag the marker to fine-tune your exact launch spot along the Hythe shoreline.
