The Club has an active dinghy sailing section that meets on Sunday mornings and Thursday evenings. The sailing section caters for all types of sailing from competitive racing to trips along the coast for a pint and a pasty.
All levels of experience are welcomed with rescue facilities available to boost the confidence of the beginner and open meetings to challenge the more experienced racer. Dinghies and catamarans of all classes are encouraged with no restrictions on size, speed, weight or number of crew.
Each year an RYA recognised beginners course is run at nearby Dover Watersports Centre, enabling those who have never set foot in a dinghy to become competent sailors. Advice is always available from the more experienced members and training days are run during the year.
The Club has dinghies for hire to members, and offers reduced fees for children and students. Additionally many crewing opportunities arise in two-man boats and experienced members are always available to assist those who lack the confidence to go out alone. In this way the sport of sailing is open and affordable to everyone.
The galley is open on Sundays for the season. Pop down for a bacon roll and some home made cakes. Thanks Chris and Miles Jessop for your help on the galley. Also amazing cakes from Sharon Rhodes and Pam Wright. A great start to the season. ... See MoreSee Less
