Information

HSSC Weather Central is designed to bring you the live weather data you want, in an easy to use form. Central to our service is HSSC's own live weather station and web cam.

The cam is situated on top of the club, and provides a view across the balcony and the beach, between our two ramps. The Cam is updated every 30 seconds between 6.00 am and 10.00 pm. Cam update is via Java application. Java must therefore be installed on your computer to view the cam. (A non Java page which must be updated manually is also provided.)

Hardware is an Axis 2110 network camera, sending .JPG images via ASDL router directly to our web server.

Live wind and temperature information from the station on top of the club is also provided. This updates up to every 3 seconds. Summary information in a variety of graphs is also available.

Hardware is an Oregon Scientific weather station, linked to IBM PC. Data are received and processed by WeatherDisplay software and displayed server side by WeatherDisplayLive. WDL is a Macromedia Flash application. Flash must therefore be installed on your computer to view the display.

Hardware has been kindly supplied by Graeme Fuller, Surf Sales
Implementation by Mat Mackenzie and Mark Forge.
