Hythe and Saltwood Sailing Club recently received  a community Chest Award of £3,707 from Shepway District Council
On behalf of all club members, may I warmly thank all of the councilors on committee. 

With this award we were able to purchase an Avon Rover. The Rib is light and easy to move around on shore and has been used for most of the season, we also fitted an ICOM radio making use at sea easier and  improving communication. 

Councilor Michael lyons who was on the award committee inspected the boat recently on our RNLI flag race day, with a trophy sponsored by the local RNLI arranged by Dick Elston (see picture), where HSSC raised £180.
