Those who have made it to
the Club this year will have noticed
that our beach is fenced off, and much heavy work is afoot.
These works, to build a
large rock groin off the Stade Court
are part of the Southeast Coastal Protection Scheme.
(A bonus if you don't want your seafront residence washed away next spring
tide!)

Sandcastle building on a grand scale!

The security fence stretches off into the distance...
...and yes, we do have a key!

Diggin' a big 'ole for the rocks.

Erm... Not the best time to launch!

1000 tonnes of rock arrives on a huge barge.

A huge earth-mover shovels rocks into the sea

Heavy machinery re-profiles the beach.
