Notice of Race

1. Rules
1.1; Racing will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing 2017-2020, the Prescriptions of the Royal Yachting Association and Margate Yacht Club Sailing Instructions.

2. Eligibility and Entry
2.1; Entry is open to any member of a club affiliated to the East Kent Yachting Association, sailing a dinghy or multihull with a Portsmouth Yardstick number listed in YR2018.
2.2; Teams should consist of 3 boats; the PY splits and the difference between the fastest and slowest boat in a team will be published on the day.
2.3; Entries will be taken on the day of the event.

3. Fees
3.1; The entry fee will be £20.00 for a double handed boat and £15 for a single handed

4. Schedule
4.1; Registration will take place from 09.00 on Saturday 9th June in the Clubhouse bar.
4.2; There will be a briefing at 9.45 in the Club bar.
4.2; The warning signal for the first race will not be before 10.25.

5. Sailing Instructions
5.1; The sailing instructions will be available at registration and on the Margate Yacht Club website.

6. Scoring
6.1 All 3 races will count
6.2 Results will be determined using the RYA Low Points System.

7. Risk Statement
Sailing is by nature an unpredictable sport and therefore inherently involves an element of risk. By taking part in the event, each competitor agrees and acknowledges that:
7.1; They are aware of the inherent element of risk involvedin the sport and accept responsibility
for the exposure of themselves, their crew and their boat to such inherent risk whilst taking part in the event;
7.2; They are responsible for the safety of themselves, their crew, their boat and their other property whether afloat or ashore;
7.3; They accept responsibility for any injury, damage or loss to the extent caused by their own actions or omissions;
7.4; Their boat is in good order, equipped to sail in the event and they are fit to participate;
7.5; The provision of a Race management team, patrol boats and other officials and volunteers by the event organiser does not relieve them of their own responsibilities;
7.6; The provision of patrol boat cover is limited to such assistance, particularly in extreme weather conditions, as can be practically provided in the circumstances;
7.7; Their boat is adequately insured, with cover of at least £2,000,000 against third party claims;
